The Department of Sociology currently offers a new online graduate certificate in Leadership in Diverse Organizations. The certificate will be part of a Master of Professional Studies in Public Safety Leadership and Administration, jointly offered by UMD's Department of Sociology, Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice, and the Francis King Carey School of Law. The Certificate in Leadership in Diverse Organizations is intended to equip leaders in business, law enforcement, and public safety with the skills they need to successfully meet the challenges of 21st century work environments, while also building organizations that promote greater equity and inclusion.
To earn a Certificate in Leadership in Diverse Organizations, students must successfully complete the following four courses: 1) Leadership in Diverse Organizations, 2) Public Image Management and Policy Solutions, 3) Power and Status in Organizations, and 4) Applied Research Methods and Technology Training Approaches.
