About the Speaker:
In 2015, Courtney Thomas recieved her Ph.D in Sociology from Vanderbilt University. She is currently an Assistant Professor for the Department of Sociology at the University of Kentucky where she specializes in African American and Africana Studies, Health Society, and Populations, and Sociology. Her other interests include: medical sociology, race and ethnicity, stress and coping, aging and the life course, social psychology, mental health, quantitative and qualitative methods, and maternal and child health. This Spring, Dr.Thomas will begin research as a Postdoctoral Fellow in UCLA's Department of Community Health Sciences.
