ABSTRACT: Environmental policy outcomes are influenced by a variety of actors and their preferences. Network analysis provides tools for analyzing the dependencies between them. Important questions are how being embedded in a network shapes individual action, how individual attributes lead to the formation of networks among political actors, and to what extent these variables are influenced by the policy debates they are involved in. The presentation will focus on how new methods such as discourse network analysis, temporal exponential random graph models, temporal network autocorrelation models, and relational event models can inform the study of environmental politics.
