Akta is an alumna of the University of Maryland. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics here at Maryland and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland, University College. She most recently earned two Master’s certificates in Human Resources and Leadership. During her seventeen years as a staff member of the University, she has worked in both academic and administrative units. Her experience provides Akta with a strong understanding of the University’s financial practices and she continues to apply these processes in her role as Director of Administrative Services in the Sociology department.
