Anya M. Galli is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Sociology at the University of Maryland—College Park, where she studies environmental sociology, political sociology, and social movements. She is also a Fellow with the Program for Society and the Environment at the University of Maryland, where she has worked on studies of environmental stewardship and civic participation in the United States. Galli is currently a Research Assistant for the Climate Constituencies Project, which studies climate and clean energy policy networks. Her dissertation focuses on the political discourse surrounding coal-fired electricity generation and environmental regulation.
Anya received her BA in Psychology, Women’s Studies, and Studio Art from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, where she worked on various social justice and policy initiatives. She received her MA in Sociology from the University of Maryland in 2012.
