Eric Stone

Doctoral Student

Eric Stone is a doctoral student and graduate assistant at the University of Maryland, and a recent graduate of Hood College. His intended specialty areas are stratification and gender, work, and family, particularly focusing on time use differences by sexuality and the experiences and well-being of same-sex couples and families. During his senior year at Hood College, Eric successfully completed a departmental honors thesis on the stigmatized identity management strategies employed by and the identity-specific obstacles to outreach service access experienced by diverse lower-income/homeless clients. Previously, Eric received an SRI-funded grant to conduct research at the National Library of France in Paris on the transformative role of American erotica and the luxury industry on the symbolic meanings/interpretations of Islamic veils and female Muslim identity.
