Eric Stone

Doctoral Student

Eric Stone is a doctoral student and graduate assistant at the University of Maryland, and a recent graduate of Hood College. His intended specialty areas are social psychology and stratification, particularly focusing on sexualities, intersectionality theory, oppression and identity. During his senior year at Hood College, Eric successfully completed a departmental honors thesis on the stigmatized identity management strategies employed by and the identity-specific obstacles to outreach service access experienced by diverse lower-income/homeless clients. Previously, Eric received an SRI-funded grant to conduct research at the National Library of France in Paris on the transformative role of American erotica and the luxury industry on the symbolic meanings/interpretations of Islamic veils and female Muslim identity.
