Shabina Asghar is a current Sociology Ph.D. at the University of Maryland. She has received her Bachelor's in Criminal Justice and Master's in Sociology. Her current research interests are within women's empowerment, gender performance, identity formation, family, gender, and migration. Her current research looks at intra-household power among Mother-in-law and Daughter-in-laws within the household.
