My research areas include health, aging, and family. I frame these interests in intersection with gender, racial/ethnic, and socioeconomic disparities in both U.S. and Asian societies. Covering a range of sub-topics and methods, the overarching theme of my research is the diverse and changing nature of intergenerational exchange and its influence on older adults’ health and well-being. Another line of inquiry throughout my research is the various life course transitions and their implications for women. Additionally, my work has clear policy relevance, indicating challenges in population aging and health for different societies and where policy interventions are needed.
