Lear Burton (he/him) is a current sociology PhD student at the University of Maryland. He is currently a research assistant with the National Center for Smart Growth (NCSG) located in the School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation at the University of Maryland, where he works on a team researching housing instability within Maryland. His research interests revolve around the sociology of housing, including neighborhood effects, segregation, housing instability, and broadly how the places people live affect their lives in a myriad of ways.
