Emily Campbell is a PhD student in the Department of Sociology. She is particularly interested in social movements and dominant identities, such as whiteness and masculinity. Her research focuses on how social movements maintain and reproduce the systems of stratification they seek to dismantle. Emily is a fellow with the Program for Society and the Environment and participates in the Critical Race Initiative and Contexts. Before pursing her PhD at the University of Maryland, she lived in Minneapolis and did research for several non-profits, including the Joint Religious Legislative Coalition, Gender Justice, and the Minneapolis Area Synod of the ELCA.
