My substantive interests are in aging, family demography, and social and economic inequality. I am currently developing a dissertation that uses the Health and Retirement Study to examine the changing nature of retirement among dual-earning couples.  This dissertation utilizes a life course perspective to study how marital partners from different cohorts manage the retirement transition amidst rapid structural changes in the economy.
