Originally from Massachusetts, I graduated from St. Bernard’s Central Catholic High School in June of 1993 and accepted an appointment to the United States Naval Academy in July of 1993.  After graduating from the Naval Academy in May of 1997, I was commissioned in the United States Navy and selected for training as a Naval Aviator.  Following service in a variety of flying and non-flying assignments, I was selected as a Permanent Military Professor and completed my doctoral degree in the Department of Sociology at the University of Maryland.  I am currently assigned to the Department of Leadership, Ethics and Law at the Naval Academy.
