Ronald Or is a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow and a PhD student in the Department of Sociology at the University of Maryland. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychological Sciences with a minor in Sociology from Purdue University. His research interests are situated at the intersection of social psychology, gender inequality, and status dynamics. Ronald is particularly focused on examining how various forms of social inequality are constructed and maintained through interactions within close relationships, families, and organizational structures, and the reciprocal influences among these social units, particularly in shaping status hierarchies and power dynamics. Additionally, he is interested in uncovering the conditions that motivate individuals to support those in marginalized positions.
