Jose Miguel Puente Puente (he/him) is a first-year sociology graduate student specializing in neighborhoods and health disparities. Born in Guanajuato, Mexico then moved to the U.S. at age 7. Jose has spent the majority of his life in Aurora, Colorado. He earned his associate degree from the Community College of Aurora (CCA) and then transferred to the Metropolitan State University of Denver for his BA in Sociology. Here is where he fell in love with quantitative methods and decided to continue his education at the University of Colorado Denver where he earned his MA. Jose realized his passion for research when taking a course and working with Dr. Adam M. Lippert. Jose aims to investigate the differences that neighborhoods enact on the health problems among foreign-ethnic racial groups.
