Yan Xu (Hope) is a doctoral student and teaching assistant at the University of Maryland. She earned a master's degree in gender studies from London School of Economics and Political Science and a bachelor's degree in history and political science from University of Nottingham Ningbo China. Prior to attending the University of Maryland, she worked for China Family Panel Studies (CFPS), a longitudinal survey launched by Peking University. Her current research interests include gendered health disparity, gendered work segregation and women's agency in conventionally believed oppressive condition.
