Brittany Dernberger and Joanna Pepin's research was highlighted in The Atlantic. The article, "When Promotion Leads to Divorce," discusses their findings from a forthcoming article in Sociological Science, "Gender Flexibility, But Not Equality: Young Adults' Division of Labor Preferences" (which can be found on SocArxiv).
Brittany is a PhD Candidate in Sociology studying social inequality and mobility. Her dissertation research focuses on the underemployment of college graduates, pathways from education to employment, and how job values have changed in the new economy. Joanna is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Texas-Austin's Population Research Center. Her research centers inequality related to gender and families. Her dissertation investigated couples' treatment of money.
